Shiatsu is a Japanese style of massage. “Shiatsu” is the Japanese word for “finger pressure”. Similar to acupuncture, shiatsu uses the healing pressure from the practitioner’s fingers, thumbs, and palms on hundreds of effective points on the body to relieve pain and rejuvenate the body. Stimulating the body’s own healing process. Shiatsu creates a balance in the body and assists the body’s natural energy to flow throughout the body. Shiatsu is an amazing treatment for anything that is going on in the body. External or internal pain and/or discomfort can be revealed with a Shiatsu session. Shiatsu assists our bodies back to their natural balance. When we are in pain or have some kind of discomfort our bodies fall out of balance. Applying proper pressure to different points on the body brings the body back into it’s regular balance. We don’t need to wait for the body to be expressing pain before receiving a Shiatsu session, but rather have a regular session as a form or maintenance (like keeping your car tuned up) and prevention of sickness.
